On a cold, windy day in March 2005, children, staff, board members and construction workers gathered to thank God for His blessing and request his favor. Daystar Builders, LLC, Grantsville, was the contractor.

Close to 150 attended the official groundbreaking ceremony in May. The new library provides a quiet space for study and reading. Computers were donated by Chi Sigma Sorority.

Thanks to the new commercial kitchen, lunches need no longer be transported each day from the farmhouse a mile away. Young appetites have improved noticeably.

On a Saturday in March 2006. almost exactly a year after ground was broken, staff members and volunteers moved supplies and equipment from the old school to the new.

In June 2006, over 100 friends in addition to Salem staff and children came together to thank God for His faithfulness and to dedicate the new school building to His service.

Chi Sigma Sorority, whose National Charity Program donated computers and more, chartered a bus to attend the Dedication ceremony and tour the campus.

The new Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Building was unveiled by (l-r) Salem President Sam Reckley, School Secretary Caroline Penick, Executive Director Louise Richards, Teacher Dana Norris, and Weinberg Foundation Program Officer Dr. Stan Goldman.
